Job Summary

Provide high-quality food service in a variety of cafeteria and kitchen environments by preparing, assembling, and serving meals.
Support efficient daily operations while maintaining strong standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.

Qualifications

Set up food service areas, equipment, and utensils according to operational needs; prepare stations for daily service and verify food temperatures

Transport food and supplies from kitchen, bakery, or prep areas to serving locations using carts or manual handling

Set up and maintain hot and cold food lines, beverage stations, and dessert areas, ensuring proper equipment use and temperature control

Prepare or assist with a variety of food items, including hot meals, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, beverages, and simple baked goods

Serve food to customers from counters or steam tables, ensuring proper portions, presentation, and adherence to service guidelines

Restock food, dishes, utensils, and supplies at service stations to maintain smooth operations

Monitor daily operations, identifying issues with food quality, supplies, or equipment; remove and report any spoiled or defective items

Clean and maintain all assigned work areas, including floors, equipment, cookware, utensils, and service ware

Dispose of trash and waste in designated containers in accordance with sanitation standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.

Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.

Ability to read and write. - Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.

Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.

Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements.

Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods.

Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience may not be substituted in place of educational requirements
