Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Operations and in collaboration with the department's Physician Director, the Clinical Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic and provides leadership to the clinical staff. This role supports the implementation of departmental strategies, operational initiatives, and hospital-wide programs while ensuring efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience.Does this position require Patient Care?

Essential Functions
-Lead, hire, train, schedule, and support clinical and supervisory staff across clinic locations, partnering closely with department leadership.
-Evaluate staff performance and competencies while promoting ongoing professional development.
-Support the implementation of new workflows, policies, and processes to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
-Identify and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and patient care.
-Assist with developing, monitoring, and managing departmental operating and capital budgets while supporting responsible financial stewardship.
-Allocate and redeploy staff as needed to meet patient care demands and maintain efficient clinic operations.
-Ensure resources are used effectively to provide an excellent patient experience, including appropriate accommodations for patients with diverse needs.
-Respond to patient questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner.
-Monitor quality, service, patient satisfaction, and operational performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
-Participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives that support operational excellence and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required.
Experience
- 5–7 years of management experience in an ophthalmology setting required.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
