As a Nursing Professional Development Specialist, you will plan,implementand evaluate nursing orientation as well as the ongoing professional development of nursesat Indian River Hospital.In this role, you will collaborate with hospital leadership and the
other Nursing Professional Development Specialists on the teamtocoordinateour program,whichissupportingthe nursesinimproving careand safetyfor ourpatient population.This isa great opportunityfor an experienced nurse, preferably one with geriatric experience,who is ready tobranchoutand grow within the nursing education field.

A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Fridayfrom8:00AM – 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Design, direct, implement and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge,skillsand learning levels of nursing staff.

  • Identifylearningneeds and desires of nursing personnel.

  • Develop andutilizeappropriate evaluationsystems todeterminethe effectiveness of educational activities.

  • Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing,CCFand the communityregardingprofessional nursingpracticeand roles.

  • Assistin the development of department specific orientation and competencies.

  • Assistdepartments in orientation of caregivers.

  • Develop andmaintaina cataloging system for tracking and retrieval of all available teaching-learning resources.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) ORMaster’s Degree in Nursing(MSN) with a non-nursingBachelor’sdegree

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Two years of recent nursing experience withdemonstratedclinicalexpertiseincluding clinical nursing experience,preceptoror BCLS or ACLS instructor

  • Demonstrated knowledge of educationmethodologysuch as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructionaldesignand principles of adult learning

  • Presentation skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Specialty certification

  • Three years of experience

  • Experience working with the geriatric population

  • Program development experience

  • Experience with education planning,implementationand evaluation

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
  • Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
