Mercy Hospital offers a wide range of surgical services.Whether patientsrequireminimally invasive procedures or major surgeries, this surgical teamis dedicated to providingpatients with excellent care in a safe, family-friendly environment.As a Surgical Services Support Technician, you will help create a safe and sterile environment for surgical operations and other procedures.You will help with throughput and ensuring patient safety by transporting the right patient at the right time, keeping them out of general waitingareasanddecreasingdelays.You will be exposed to the latest technologies, offering a unique opportunity to gain invaluable medical knowledge through hands-on experience.

APRNcaregiver in this positionworksvariabledays and hours from 7:00AM – 3:30PM or 3:00PM – 11:30PM, including weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Safely transport patients todesignatedareas per nursingrequests.

  • Assistnursing caregivers during surgical cases asrequested.

  • Maintain and controlSupportServices equipment and supplies.

  • Maintain the OR in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.

  • Escortanddirectcustomers to theappropriate sourceforassistance.

  • Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.

  • Enter job tasks into electronic computer software systems.

  • Assistin prepping and shaving patients for surgery.

  • Coordinate andmaintainUniformRoom activities, such as locker assignments andscrubs.

  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardouswaste.

  • Comply withspecial cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infectioncontrolsurgical cases.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • HighSchoolDiploma or GED

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossupon hire orwithin new hire period

  • One year of customer service experience

  • Experience working in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including ability to lift and/or bear the weight of 100 pounds with assistance, or more while pulling, lifting, pushing and transferring patients to and from various apparatus; regularly pushes moderate to heavy weight of 100 pounds or more.
  • Exposure to body fluids.
  • Must be available for flexible scheduling according to the needs of the surgical area.
  • Floating may be expected per assignment policies within the surgical support department.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $21.00

Maximum hourly: $21.00
