Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the US Medical Affairs (USMA)Dermatology Lead and based at aPfizerheadquarterslocation: Collegeville, PA or Hudson Yards, NYC,the Medical Director will contribute to the planning and execution of medical strategies and tactics for Pfizer’s dermatology franchiseand expanding portfolio of medicines in I & I / Specialty Care. The Directorwill be an integral member of the US Medical Affairs-Dermatologyteam, as a part ofthe broaderUS Specialty Carebusiness unitsupporting currentmarketed medicines,as well ascompoundsin clinical development,pipelinemedicines, and life-cycle managementdepending onidentifiedbusiness needs and priorities.The Director will provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights toinformPfizer strategies on critical health issues,facilitate the development of customer-focusedscientifically-based and clinically relevant resources and tools to supportmedical communicationsand engagements to improve patient outcomes andaccess to quality medicines.
The Director will develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers, including professional organizations, patient societies,healthcare providers,and key opinion leaders todemonstrateclinical and economic value of ourmedicines.These activities areintendedtoeducate andhelp informon the benefit/risk profile and the safe and effective use of our medicines withHCPs and formulary decision-makers through medical presentations, pharmaco-economic analyses, and outcomes evaluations;along with the Organized Customer Group and Field Medical colleagues.Additional customer collaborations are built with the goal of aligning corporate medical priorities with the specific needs of the customer to advance the quality of patient care in areas of mutualscientific and clinical interest,toidentify provider and/or patientcare gaps andknowledge gaps, and areas for qualityimprovement interventions.The Director will develop, in conjunction with Medicaland cross-functionalteam colleagues, an advanced perspective of the evolving clinical and healthcare landscape withinDermatologyand other aligned therapeutic areas.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES(including, but not limited to):
Participate in reviewing & approving promotional and non-promotional materials ensuring fair balance
Collaborate with cross functional colleaguesfrom Commercial, Organized Customer, Field Medical, HEOR and relevant internal stakeholdersto drive US strategic directionforthebrands
Ability to plan and lead successful advisory boards, congress-related symposia & congress planning
Ability to contributeand leadpublication planning, data generation activities and other medical/scientific activities related to informing HCPsonappropriateuseof Pfizer medicines
Serve as a reliable, trusted source ofaccurateand scientific knowledge for theclinicaldata, disease state, product label and competitiveintelligencedata setsfromclinical trialsand other sources of available scientific information
Participate in developing andmaintainingHCP engagement plans for HQ Medical Affairs
Congresssupportin collaboration withUS and Globalcolleagues
Support internal data interpretation and alignment activities
Support evidence dissemination and education activities including scientific publications and scientific exchange
Support internal medical training curriculum in collaboration with the I&I medical affairs capabilities group
Work with marketing and training group onappropriate timelinesand expectations for Sales Training
Support training needs through partnership in developing materials and provide expert medical presentations and education
Support development of training modules
Partner with MI colleagues to provide expert input into Medical Letters and ensure updates as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidatedemonstratesa breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
MD/DOprofessional degree with4+ years of experience inDermatology(or related field),pharmaceutical industry, clinical/medical practice, or combination of these
Relationship builder within and outside of Pfizer
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Team oriented for success
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Specialty training and board certification in Dermatology
Clinical experience in Dermatologyor Immunology
Experience in Medical Affairs
Experience or understanding of clinicaltrialsand drug development
Proven ability tofacilitateopen discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships
Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively lead in a matrix organization
Creativity, resourcefulness, highenergyand flexibility
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 25%
