Position Purpose:
Assistswith the planning,purchasing, installation,and preventive maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Functions as a liaison to other departmentsregardinganesthesia supplies and equipment.Assiststhe Department of Anesthesia with patient care. Maintains work and storage areas fortheDepartment of Anesthesiology.
What thePerioperative Service TechWill Do:
Performs preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment, reports repairs needed, exchanges CO₂ absorber,assistswith specialized equipment, and responds to anesthesia provider requests.
Collaborates with team members,maintainsequipment/supply logs, cleans machines and carts daily and after each use, and ensures emergency supplies are stocked.
Assistswith equipment tracking,requestsmaintenance as needed andrespondspromptly to pages.
Prepares rooms and sterile fields, works with Sterile Processing, verifies instruments/supplies, and prioritizes workflow.
Cleans and decontaminates instruments, educates ancillary staff, ensures safe transport, and performs other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in anesthesia.
Working knowledge of anesthesia equipment and procedures
