Job Purpose:
ProvidestechnicalsupportinthedeliveryofpharmaceuticalcaretoclientsofMercyOneMedicalCenter. Technicalsupportincludesthepreparationanddeliveryofmedicationsandsterileproducts,stockingand orderingofdrugsandotherproducts.Technicalworkisperformedundercontinualsupervisionofalicensed pharmacist or Certified Pharmacy Technician.
What you will do:
- AttendsdidacticandclinicaltrainingsessionsasoutlinedintheCertifiedPharmacyTechniciancourse curriculum.
- Adheres to attendance requirements.
- Receivestrainingintheinpatient,outpatient,andmedicationhistorypharmacydepartmentsandobservesother specialized pharmacy technician duties
- Prepares patient medication orders in outpatient and inpatient pharmacysettings
- Deliversmedications and IV admixtures to patient rooms, critical care areas, and other ancillaryareas.
- Charges and credits to the patient andrestocksusable medications/IVs returned to thepharmacy.
- Utilizes and restocks automated medication dispensing machines (robot,acudose, andpyxis)
- Checks medicationexpirationdates and completes assigned unitinspections
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma orGED
- Registered with the State of Iowa as a Tech in Training within the first week of employment.
- Pharmacy TechTraineewillbe requiredtocomplete the400 hoursof training program andobtain PTCB certificationwithinone year
