• Helps to coordinate the implementation of translational research studies focusing on human sample-based studies and clinical trials in ICU patients
• Assists the investigator in maintenance of freezers and human biorepository samples
• Assists the investigator with set up and management of clinical databases.
• Develop, organize, and/or maintain detailed laboratory records; responsible for data validation and quality control and interaction with biostatistical support
• Help with sharing biospecimens and data with local and national collaborators
• Help with study protocol development and IRB and other regulatory body approvals
• Helps develop and implement new clinical research protocols including design, data collection systems
• Perform literature searches, as appropriate
• Assist PI or others with preparation for presentation and written published articles
• Being available during clinical research work hours, working per diem to achieve the set out goals.
• Other duties as assigned with the opportunity to be involved in additional basic and translational laboratory studies as feasible and as desired.
Job Summary
Summary<br>Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned.Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem)to provide degree equivalency verification.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting. <br>
-Study cohort management. <br>
-Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents. <br>
-Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies and other population-based research. <br>
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Science required
Experience
New grad with some relevant coursework 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
- Computer literacy, including database tools.
- Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism.
