To integrate existing biostatistical/bioinformatics methods for analyzing spatial proteomics datasets and develop new Bayesian methodologies

Job Duties:

1. The fellow will conduct research on state-of-the-art spatial omics-based bioinformatics methods and related R/Python packages under the supervision of Dr. Souvik Seal (15%).

2. The fellow will develop efficient and user-friendly R/Python packages, focusing on selected key methods from the research (25%).

3. The fellow will collaborate with Dr. Seal and Dr. Brian Neelon on Bayesian spatial statistical models tailored for high-dimensional spatial omics datasets (25%).

4. The fellow will work with basic scientists from MUSC’s Spatial Proteomics Core to apply and validate the developed methods on their datasets (10%).

5. The fellow will contribute to manuscript writing based on the developed models and findings (25%).

Additional Knowledge, skill, ability preferred:

A PhD in biostatistics or bioinformatics with some experience in R/Python package development is required. Moderate exposure to spatial omics datasets is preferred.
